Computer Repair & Deployment Technician
The Computer Repair & Deployment Technician is an advanced, primarily depotbased role responsible for computer and server hardware repair, system imaging and configuration, deployment preparation, and scheduled onsite installations. This position supports structured deployments through highquality bench repair, standardized build processes, and limited onsite technical support, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, documentation, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Computer & Server Repair (Core Responsibility)

• Diagnose and repair laptops, desktops, and servers, including complex or repeat-failure issues.
• Perform modular hardware replacements on items like screens, hinges, casings, keyboards, motherboards, storage devices, power supplies, fans, and internal assemblies.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues on tower and rack-mounted servers.
• Validate system stability and functionality following repairs.
• Ensure all repaired systems meet internal quality standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all repair activity.

Imaging, Configuration & Deployment Preparation

• Image and configure computers and servers using established deployment standards.
• Install and configure operating systems, firmware, drivers, and required software.
• Configure BIOS/UEFI settings, storage configurations, and basic RAID where applicable.
• Prepare systems for deployment, including asset tagging, labeling, and documentation.
• Perform final quality assurance checks to ensure systems are fully deployment ready.

Onsite Installation & Basic Technical Support

• Install computers, peripherals, and servers at client sites as part of scheduled deployment projects.
• Perform rack-and-stack server installations and basic hardware connections.
• Set up workstation and multi-device deployment environments, including device placement and validation.
• Provide basic onsite technical support, such as verifying connectivity, confirming device functionality, addressing simple configuration or hardware issues.
• Deliver high-touch, professional customer service during onsite work.
• Document completed installations and any follow-up items.

Quality, Accuracy & Customer Experience

• Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail across repair, configuration, and installation tasks.
• Identify and resolve issues proactively before systems are delivered or placed into service.
• Ensure work is performed accurately the first time to minimize rework or customer disruption.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented presence when interacting with clients.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute feedback for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 35 years of hands-on experience in computer hardware repair and diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience with tower/rack servers e.g. installation, basic troubleshooting, FRU swaps.
• Experience imaging, configuring, and preparing computers and servers for deployment.
• Experience performing onsite installations or technical support in professional environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI configuration, storage setups, and basic RAID concepts.
• Experience using ticketing or work order systems for documentation.
• Valid Florida drivers license and ability to travel locally as required.
• Ability to pass all required background screenings for client-site work.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (computers, servers, monitors, peripherals).

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
• Manufacturer certifications (Dell, HP, Lenovo) for computer or server hardware.
• Prior experience with structured deployments or large-scale equipment installations.
• Familiarity with QA or final validation processes.
• Experience working in environments requiring strict documentation and compliance.

• Repair depot and staging environment with regular bench work.
• Scheduled onsite work for deployments and installations.
