Barista Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and take food and drink orders. Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, and specialty teas. Prepare and serve food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and baked goods. Answer customer inquiries regarding menu options and ingredients. Promote and recommend menu items to enhance customer experience. Process customer payments accurately, including cash and credit transactions. Track and manage inventory for cafe supplies, including coffee beans, milk, and disposable items. Maintain and clean espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment; troubleshoot and schedule repairs as needed. Ensure cleanliness Work environment and cafe seating area. Evaluate and suggest improvements to processes for better efficiency and service quality. Attract new customers and contribute to menu refinement and development. Comply with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment. Communicate customer feedback to management and suggest new menu items. Stay informed about all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods. Customer Interaction: Greet and engage with customers as they enter, ensuring a friendly and inviting environment. Build rapport with both new and regular patrons. Menu Education: Educate customers about our menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods. Answer any questions they may have to help them make informed choices. Order Taking: Accurately take customer orders, paying close attention to details such as preferences for coffee blends, dairy options, and sugar ratios. Ensure all dietary restrictions, such as allergies, are noted. Beverage Preparation: Follow established recipes to prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees and teas. Ensure consistency and quality in every drink served. Food Service: Serve a selection of cafe food items, including pastries, sandwiches, and baked goods, ensuring they are presented attractively. Payment Processing: Efficiently receive and process payments through cash, debit, and credit transactions, ensuring accuracy in all financial dealings. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the bar and food preparation spaces. Regularly check and restock clean mugs, plates, and other necessary items. Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the operation of espresso and brewing equipment, promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs to ensure optimal functionality. Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both customers and staff. Feedback Communication: Gather and communicate customer feedback to management, providing insights on new menu items and customer preferences to enhance the overall experience.
