Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that preserves patient autonomy, dignity, and rights, while maintaining confidentiality within legal and regulatory parameters.
• Utilize the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, outcome identification, implementation, and evaluation for Labor and Delivery patients.
• Identify high-risk patients and initiate appropriate interventions, including referrals and coordination with ancillary departments.
• Collaborate and communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary health care team members to formulate and implement individualized plans of care.
• Collect clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness of nursing care and participate in quality improvement activities and interdisciplinary teams.
• Float as needed within the unit and uphold professional ethical standards in all interactions with patients and co-workers.

Required Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand prior to start.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification required within six months of hire or transfer.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Nationally recognized specialty certification or documented completion of a specialty training program in Labor and Delivery.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or current enrollment in an RN-BSN program.
