Job Description

Project Support Specialist Direct Procurement (Engineering / Life Sciences)

Roche Diagnostics is seeking a Project Support Specialist to support Direct Procurement Operations in Indianapolis. This role will play a critical part in facilitating Roche's transition to a new SAP ERP system, with a primary focus on master data cleansing, migration, and project execution to ensure a seamless system rollout.

In addition to project support responsibilities, this role will contribute to operational procurement activities, including supplier management, sourcing initiatives, cost savings efforts, and continuous improvement programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a data-driven, cross-functional environment and has experience supporting large-scale system or process transformations within Life Sciences or regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Direct Procurement Operations activities supporting Roche Diagnostics Indianapolis
  • Serve as a Project Support Specialist for SAP ERP implementation, including:
    • Master data cleansing and migration activities
    • Supporting defined project workstreams and milestones
    • Managing and maintaining technical and project documentation
    • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful system integration and adoption
  • Support Operational Procurement activities as needed, including:
    • Supplier management and escalation support
    • Sourcing initiatives and spot buying
    • Cost reduction and value improvement programs
    • Continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
Education & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 3+ years of procurement experience, including:
    • Basic contracting
    • Business enterprise systems
    • Spot buying
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Enterprise systems
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P) tools
    • eSourcing platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate business qualification
  • Experience supporting cost reduction and value improvement programs
  • Experience or exposure to operational excellence or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience within Life Sciences, Diagnostics, or regulated environments
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to identify risks and evaluate assumptions supporting recommendations
  • Capable of independently developing and executing negotiation strategies; may require guidance for highly complex negotiations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear procurement requirements
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to tailor communications appropriately with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable contributing to meetings, presentations, and team briefings; able to ask thoughtful questions to gather information
  • High proficiency in business enterprise tools and a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement process
  • SAP experience required

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
