Integrations Wellness & Recovery Center, LLC is a family-owned behavioral health clinic located in Hutchinson, MN. We have proudly served our community, offering outpatient mental health services as well as outpatient co-occurring specific substance use disorder treatment services to residents of McLeod County and the surrounding region for the past 15 years. We expanded our services in February 2022 to include a 20-bed co-occurring specific Women's Residential Treatment facility. Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to nursing staff within the Women's Residential and Men's IOP with Lodging programs, ensuring the highest quality of nursing services to our clients, and working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to address the concurrent medical, mental health, and substance use related needs of clients served according to individual treatment plans and agency policy. This is a part-time, direct service and supervisory position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Support the mission and philosophy of Integrations Wellness & Recovery Center, LLC through personal conduct and concern for the agency, management, co-workers, clients, and the community at large both during and outside of work hours, including what is represented on social media.
  • Contribute to the growth of Integrations Wellness & Recovery Center through ideas and suggestions, adapting to the changing needs of the position and program as they occur.
  • Report to and serve with the Medical Director, Treatment Director, and Clinical Director to ensure effective treatment for all clients served.
  • Collaborate with the Treatment Director and Medical Director in policy development and ongoing monitoring of implementation to ensure that payer specific standards and State and Federal laws and regulations are met and adhered to on an ongoing basis. Prepare reports, maintain records, and participate in audits as required.
  • Assure that nursing services are available at a level consistent with the needs of the clients' served and provided according to agency policy.
  • Monitor clinical competencies of and supervise all nursing personnel, participating in recruitment, training, and retention of qualified nursing personnel.
  • Work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary treatment team, attending and contributing to weekly treatment team meetings and assisting with milieu management as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Treatment Director and in consultation with the agency Medical Director as needed, assist in determining appropriateness for admission based on agency policy, ASAM Criteria, and data received regarding pre-existing and current medical conditions.
  • Train non-medical staff in medication administration, taking and recording client vital signs, monitoring for withdrawal symptoms, recording of client medications, and record-keeping of client health concerns. Provide and document supervision as required by Statute and agency policy. Train staff in Universal Precautions.
  • Provide on-call availability to shift personnel for questions and/or emergencies and to intake personnel when appropriate related to admissions process when needed.
  • Meet with clients to develop individualized treatment plan goals regarding general health. Participate in planning, continually assessing, and implementing client-centered nursing and/or multidisciplinary treatment interventions as appropriate and within the RN's scope of practice.
  • Respond appropriately to clients' physical and mental health needs, providing appropriate nursing services and psychoeducation to clients within the RN's scope of practice.
  • Document client interactions, interventions offered and client response within the electronic medical record.
  • Report to the Treatment Director, Medical Director or designated authority any symptoms, reactions or changes in a client's condition impacting their care or treatment needs as appropriate and according to agency policy.
  • Assist clients in scheduling/obtaining medical care with community providers as needed and coordinate care with those providers.
  • Receive and transcribe physician orders into client's electronic medical record.
  • Administer and/or assist in the self-administration of medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner's orders and individual treatment plan.
  • Ensure that the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) remains accurate and is updated to reflect medication changes.
  • Complete and submit reports on all medication errors and/or other critical incidents, and review those submitted by personnel, escalating to the proper authority according to agency policy.
  • Respond to mental and/or physical health emergencies calmly, professionally, and according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Behavioral Health Clinicians and Pharmacists as needed to coordinate and address client medical and mental health needs. Monitor and assess clients for medication efficacy and/or side effects, coordinating any medication concerns with the prescriber.
  • Coordinate prescription refills.
  • Assist in determining the medical and mental health transfer/discharge needs of the client, making appropriate referrals for ongoing medical care and medication management as needed prior to transfer/discharge.
  • Implement health, safety, and emergency procedures according to agency policy and consistent with OSHA, Minnesota Department of Health, and Department of Human Services regulations.
  • Oversee reconciliation of the medication cabinets, destruction of medications, and disposal of medical waste according to agency policy.
  • Complete and document narcotic counts.
  • Monitor inventory and order first aid, OTC, and medical supplies as needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and other staff members, valuing the dignity and worth of each individual.
  • Maintain and contribute to a physically and emotionally safe, inclusive, and collaborative work and care environment that allows for client-centered healing and growth and that honors, respects, and encourages the sharing of diverse perspectives and experiences by clients and team members.
  • Maintain client records consistent with program Policies and Procedures, MN Statute 245G, and payer specific requirement.
  • Be knowledgeable in and provide all functions of the job in accordance with the Ethical Standards of one's profession.
  • Attend and participate in all Case Consultations, Supervision, and Staff Meetings as required based on position.
  • Other duties as appropriate and assigned to support the operations of the program.
Requirements
  • Competence in working with clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, including a good understanding of substance use disorders and medication assisted treatment as well as psychotropic medications and side effects; through education, training, and experience
  • Ability to work in alignment with company values, goals, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of MN Statute Chapter 245G and licensing and its application to the department and company's policy and procedures; or ability to obtain knowledge after hire
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers and collaborate professionals with others outside of the agency
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Procentive electronic medical record preferred; or ability to obtain proficiency after training
Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Must be licensed in good standing as an RN in the state of Minnesota
  • Must obtain and maintain required continuing education units and training as required by your license, agency policy, and in accordance with MN Statute 245G
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Must be free from substance use problems for a minimum of two (2) years prior to hiring as attested to by signing the "Freedom From Problematic Substance Use Attestation Form".
  • Ability to pass a background check or obtain a set-aside through the Department of Human Services;
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license.
