Professional Charter Pilot Opportunities in High-Performance Aircraft

We are seeking professional, safety-focused pilots to join our Part 135 charter operation as Pilot in Command and Second in Command crew members. This is a full-time, year-round employment opportunity to fly high-performance aircraft in a professional charter environment while working with a team that values discipline, safety, customer service, and operational excellence.

Our company operates under Part 135 and provides private charter services for clients who expect a high level of professionalism, communication, and care. Position Overview

Part 135 PIC and SIC pilots are responsible for the safe, professional, and efficient conduct of passenger-carrying charter operations and cargo flights. Pilots must be able to operate in a crew environment, manage complex flight planning variables, communicate clearly with passengers and operational personnel, and maintain a high standard of professionalism both inside and outside the cockpit.

These roles may include operations in high-performance piston, turboprop, or jet aircraft depending on operator needs, aircraft availability, insurance requirements, and pilot qualifications.

Pilot in Command Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe outcome of each assigned flight and retains final authority over the operation of the aircraft.

PIC responsibilities include:

• Exercise final authority and responsibility for the safety of flight.
• Conduct preflight planning, including route selection, weather analysis, fuel planning, aircraft performance, NOTAM review, and risk assessment.
• Ensure the aircraft is airworthy, properly equipped, and legal for the assigned operation.
• Operate in accordance with FAA regulations, company manuals, aircraft limitations, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
• Make conservative go/no-go decisions based on weather, aircraft status, crew readiness, passenger needs, and operational risk.
• Lead the flight crew with professionalism, clarity, and strong cockpit resource management.
• Conduct passenger briefings and ensure a professional customer experience.
• Manage abnormal and emergency situations using sound judgment and checklist discipline.
• Complete required company records, aircraft logs, and post-flight documentation accurately.
• Maintain currency, proficiency, and readiness for recurrent checks, line checks, and company training events.

Under Part 135, PIC qualifications are governed by 14 CFR § 135.243, and PICs must also complete required initial and recurrent testing and checks under Part 135 Subpart G, including applicable competency, instrument proficiency, and line checks.  

Second in Command Responsibilities

The Second in Command supports the PIC in the safe and professional conduct of each flight. The SIC must be capable of operating as an effective crewmember, monitoring the aircraft and flight environment, assisting with workload management, and contributing to safe decision-making.

SIC responsibilities include:

• Assist the PIC with preflight planning, weather review, aircraft performance, fuel planning, and operational risk assessment.
• Support checklist usage, callouts, cockpit flows, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor aircraft systems, flight path, airspace, traffic, weather, terrain, and ATC instructions.
• Assist with passenger handling, briefings, loading coordination, and professional customer service.
• Maintain strong situational awareness during all phases of flight.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with ATC, passengers, FBO personnel, company personnel, and the PIC.
• Participate actively in crew resource management and threat/error management.
• Be prepared to assume duties as necessary in abnormal or emergency situations.
• Maintain required training, currency, and company qualification standards.

For SIC positions under Part 135, 14 CFR § 135.245 generally requires at least a commercial pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and an instrument rating, with additional instrument experience requirements for SIC operations under IFR.  

Minimum PIC & SIC Requirements

• Commercial Pilot Certificate - Multi-Engine (AMEL)
• Instrument Rating
• Instrument Current & Proficient
• First Class Medical
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Valid U.S. Passport 
• High-Performance Endorsement Preferred
• CFI Certificate Preferred
• Must be willing to relocate
• Must pass DOT-regulated alcohol/drug screening
• Must complete all required company training
• Must pass 14 CFR § 135.293 initial checkride on first attempt
• Must be available for Full-Time, Year-Round Employment

Compensation & Career Growth

Compensation will be based on position, experience, aircraft assignment, qualifications, and company needs. Competitive pay opportunities are available for qualified PIC and SIC candidates. Advanced aircraft training will be provided for well qualified pilots interested in moving up to larger, faster, more complex aircraft within our fleet. 

Expected Annual Pay: $75,000+

Expected Annual Flight Hours: 700 - 1000

Schedule

Schedule may vary based on aircraft assignment, company needs, and charter demand. Applicants should be comfortable with a flexible Part 135 operating environment, including potential early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights, and changing trip assignments.
