Job Description

Position Overview The ideal candidate will have two plus (2+) years of professional experience in painting, wallpaper, tile and grout, and caulking, with a strong commitment to quality and detail. This role requires a dependable, team-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills who can work independently as needed. The Painter will perform high-quality interior painting and related tasks for apartment homes across the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area, with occasional travel to Baltimore as needed. The Painter will report to the Maintenance Supervisor for daily task assignments and technical guidance. As this is a traveling role, regular travel to multiple properties is required to support operational needs and ensure all communities are properly maintained to company standards. Sign-On Bonus : $1000 paid after 90 days of employment. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare interior surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming as required. Perform drywall installation, repair, wall and ceiling texturing, and caulking to ensure a smooth, finished surface. Mix and match paints to achieve the desired color, texture, and finish. Apply paints and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, including airless sprayers, pressure pots, and cup guns. Maintain tools, spray equipment, and work areas in safe, organized, and compliant condition, following Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols. Routinely travel to multiple properties throughout the DMV area; reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required. Mileage reimbursement or travel stipend provided. Handle physical workload in all weather conditions and support property needs outside standard hours as required (after-hours, evenings, weekends, holidays). Must be able to communicate in English effectively in person and in writing. Education and Experience Minimum of two (2) years of professional painting experience required; experience in multi-family or commercial painting is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in painting, drywall repair, or related trades are an asset. Hands‑on experience with general apartment maintenance, including basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems, is preferred to ensure safe and effective coordination with other trades. Computer Skills Basic computer proficiency, including MS Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and internet navigation, to track assignments and complete reporting. Physical Demands, Working Conditions, and Hazards This role involves light to heavy lifting, carrying materials, and operating equipment in both indoor and outdoor settings. Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals may occur; safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required. The position requires flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies on‑call as needed. Strong teamwork and a collaborative attitude are essential. Essential physical requirements include good hand‑eye coordination and the ability to safely use tools and equipment. Candidates must be able to access all areas of a property, including rooftops, crawl spaces, and tight or elevated areas. The role requires lifting and moving 50 to 100 pounds (with or without assistance) and performing tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders.
