The Mobile Sous Chef will work closely with the Mobile Chef in preparing dishes focusing on nutrition, including plant-based and vegan dishes.
Essential functions include participating in the production of food for all Metro events including on-site staff meals and food truck events, following all health, safety and hygiene codes and standards, participating in the daily cleaning of all Community Kitchen equipment, assisting in breaking down and cleaning the food truck at the end of each shift, communicating ideas and concerns to the Mobile Chef in a timely manner, and performing other duties as assigned.
Position requirements include a Culinary Arts Degree, 2 years working as a sous chef, and ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. Skills and abilities include the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, the ability to work well with a team or independently, excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent customer service, and providing a safe experience for individuals experiencing hunger, addiction and/or health concerns by treating them with dignity, empathy and respect.
