Job Description

A well-established professional services organization is seeking a part-time Garnishment Assistant to support a growing legal operations team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to garnishment processes and collaboration with legal professionals, clients, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and comfortable handling sensitive information in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Review, enter, and maintain new garnishment case information within internal databases Prepare and process responses for no-asset cases, including drafting documentation and uploading records into a document management system Electronically file and distribute case-related documents to appropriate parties Scan, review, approve, and organize case files within the document management platform Handle inbound calls from customers, external counsel, and court representatives in a professional manner Assist with administrative support tasks, including updating case data and tracking documentation Maintain an on‑site presence to support team collaboration and prepare documents for court submission Receive, sort, and distribute departmental mail related to garnishment matters Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 1–3 years of experience in collections, garnishments, or a related administrative/legal role preferred Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment is a plus Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments or similar platforms) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Required Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities Customer‑service mindset with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders Baltimore, MD $60,000.00-$90,000.00 1 month ago #J-18808-Ljbffr
