As a Financial Consultant, you will be responsible for key financial processes, including reporting, forecasting, and capital governance, to provide actionable insights and drive business decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Assist in preparing and delivering accurate financial reports to support decision-making processesSupport forecasting efforts, including gathering data, analyzing trends, and developing projectionsWork with senior leadership and finance leadership to develop plans to achieve financial and business goalsServe as the Capital Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) owner, managing and tracking CBA performance in accordance with capital governance standards and senior management guidelinesPartner with business and project stakeholders to develop, validate, and monitor Capital Cost Benefit Analyses (CBAs), including benefit assumptions, financial impacts, and ongoing performance tracking in alignment with Optum Capital policyAnalyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvementMaintain and update financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, validate, and synthesize financial informationEnsure compliance with internal controls and company policies in all reporting and analysis activitiesContribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, financial analysis, or internal controlsDemonstrated experience supporting leaders or teams in financial planning, forecasting, cost management, and business case developmentDemonstrated experience in financial modeling, including capital cost/benefit analysis, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis to support investment decisions and forecasting.Experience contributing to change initiatives, process improvements, or automation efforts that improve reporting, forecasting, or decision supportSolid understanding of accounting principles and experience working with financial systems (e.g., Essbase, PeopleSoft, or similar tools)Proficiency in MS Office - Excel and PowerPointProven effective communication and stakeholder partnership skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non‑finance partnersPreferred Qualifications:Experience using Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft FinancialsExperience building and maintaining financial models and business cases (e.g., capital cost/benefit analysis) to support investment decisions and governanceCompetencies:Demonstrates solid personal agency by proactively identifying issues, taking ownership of outcomes, and driving work forward without waiting for directionProven ability to Seeks ways to improve job and operational efficiencyAbility to prioritize & manage workloads with concurrent deadlinesAbility to use proper discretion when dealing with confidential information exhibiting a high level of integrityComfort working in a collaborative and matrixed organizationSelf-Starter who can take direction and develop solutions to requestsAssertive, self-starting personality with a customer service attitudeAbility to deal with ambiguity and changePay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
